Longing

I miss the scents of wilderness,
moving air over water, dunes,
cliff, hill, forest, plain, peak.

I miss the scents of wilderness,
salt, blossom, hot earth drinking
in cool rain, echo of bison, bear.

I miss the scents of wilderness,
that sweep my mind clean of plans,
wash me fresh to begin again.
