Can't Fake Strength

Can't fake strength.
Can doubt its presence,
resent need that demands
tap root reach deep source
Can pant, weep, curse, fear,
worry, wail, falter exhausted.
Strength comes when called
Does what needs doing.
Can't fake strength.

  1. It is good if strength always comes when called. I agree one cannot fake it. The worry is that when one calls for it one falls short.

  2. I know it's true that strength comes but I sure wish we didn't need it so much. I also know that we sometimes don't recognize it for what it is. Good poem, Victoria.
