Three short Proverb Poems

I realized that the poetry prompts from my online poetry group this week are inspiring proverbs, so I'm just going to go with that - see what happens. Thanks Mary for cool prompts.

All My News

All my news
repeats itself.
I try.
I fail.
I try again.
I hope.
I despair.
I hope again.
I love.
I lose.
I love again.
I live.
I die.
I live again.
All my news
repeats itself.

Essence

It all boils down to
Do the next right thing
Be kind now.

A Case for Mindfulness

The words that come out of my mouth,
the concepts that roll of my fingertips,
the phone call I don't return,
the card I send, shape how you
feel about me and yourself. What we
have is what we do. This is is it.

  1. I just love "All My News." A universal poem, I think, for many of us. Our news does repeat, go through cycles. This poem is kind of calming...as one knows out of despair comes hope.

"Essence"...yes...be kind NOW. Sounds easy, isn't always.

"A Case for Mindfulness" - so true that what we have is what we do...this IS it. We do have choices, and so much depends on what we do.

Your words enriched me tonight, Victoria. Thank you.

  4. I like all your short wise poems Victoria. Can't decide which I like best, perhaps Essence with just doing the next right thing. Wonderful thought.
