Courage

Courage stands at the edge
of the void and jumps in.

  5. I think there are times when it is foolish to jump in, not brave. I don't mean the poem as a definition of courage, just a description in some circumstances. I agree with my friend Peggy, that there is no courage if there is no fear, so all jumps aren't brave. And I think sometimes the brave thing is to simply abide.
